City Attorney
The City Attorney’s mission is to provide the highest quality municipal legal service to the City, its elected and appointed officials, and all city departments, boards and agencies in carrying out the good work they do.

City Clerk-Treasurer
The City Clerk-Treasurer is the keeper of the City seal, the custodian of all public records and official City documents, and the chief accountant.

The Human Resources department is a business partner, working with and for the departments within the City. We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset. We are focused on delivering quality customer service in all personnel operations with integrity, responsiveness and sensitivity to all employees and citizens. We seek to provide support and guidance to all employees in labor relations, benefits and compensation programs, recruitment, training, development and safety.

Municipal Court
The Anacortes Municipal Court is responsible for processing infractions and citations in violation of city ordinances and state statues issued by the Anacortes Police Department.

Museum
Founded in 1958 and established at the Carnegie Library building in 1968, the Museum is a department of the City of Anacortes.

Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department seeks to preserve and enhance the quality of life that our residents enjoy by providing quality recreational facilities and opportunities regardless of age, race, sex, wealth and ability.

Police
We serve approximately 16,000 citizens over about 15 square miles on Fidalgo Island in Skagit County Washington. APD provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week patrol and emergency response service.

Public Defender
The Public Defender's Office was established by the City of Anacortes to protect and defend the rights of individuals charged with non-felony offenses within city limits who are unable to afford a private attorney.

Public Safety
Anacortes is committed to the safety of it's citizens and believes in accomplishing this goal through it's Fire and Police Departments and disaster preparedness. These departments provide around the clock services to the community while maintaining high standards for themselves.
