Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Here at APL, we'll have displays sharing what books are often challenged, and celebrate our freedom to read. Join us on Wednesday, October 4 for a special teen banned books event with our librarian at 2:00 pm, or attend a public program at 6:00 pm with our Community Service Officer, Brent Lindquist to find out why his recent reading of Fahrenheit 451 opened his eyes to the power of access to information for all, followed by a Q&A with our teen and adult librarians.
If you’re in grades 9 - 12 and interested in writing, please join us for this creative writing workshop. Share ideas, get feedback, and find out what we’re working on. Work on writing for your personal projects, academic goals, or library collaborations, including the possibility of having your writing published and displayed in the library.
