Transportation Benefit District

The Anacortes Transportation Benefit District Number 1 (TBD) was established by the Anacortes City Council on July 21, 2014 by Ordinance 2926 (PDF). Pursuant to Ordinance 2967 (PDF) adopted on January 4, 2016, the TBD is governed by the Anacortes City Council. Its secretary/treasurer is the City Finance Director.

On July 23, 2018 City Council adopted Resolution 2017 authorizing a public vote for a 2/10ths of 1% sales tax increase within City of Anacortes city limits, to be used for pavement management consistent with Resolution 2018

The Transportation Benefit District tax initiative passed in the 2018 General Election with 54.91% approval.

On February 25, 2019 City Council adopted Resolution 2032 approving the repeal of the $20 car licensing fee, effective April 1, 2019.  

The TBD District publishes an annual report Consistent with RCW 36.73.160.
