Share Your Vision for the Guemes Channel Waterfront
Tuesday, November 14, 2017
The City has been working to construct the Guemes Channel Trail to provide a walking and biking connection between downtown, the Ferry Terminal, and beyond to Washington Park. This trail will connect to the Tommy Thompson Trail and increase public recreation opportunities and access to the water. Construction of the trail could promote related economic and community development along the waterfront. The City has obtained funding and support from the Center for Creative Land Recycling (CCLR) to facilitate a planning process to engage the community in creating a conceptual vision and possible action plan for the Guemes Channel waterfront. CCLR is a non-profit organization that assists communities in transforming underutilized commercial and industrial properties into assets that generate economic, environmental, and public benefit. The City will host a workshop to bring together community members to share thoughts and ideas for the waterfront.
