Steven Dolmatz examines the growth of country blues in America 1900- 1940 from the songster tradition in New Orleans and East Texas, to its development as Delta and Piedmont blues, culminating in its urbanization in Chicago. Learn about the history of the country blues and its distinctive guitar players and styles as demonstrated by Dolmatz on vocals and guitar and Charley Drake on piano and ukulele. This roadtrip visits Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell and Big Bill Broonzy.
