NEW DATE: Mayor Gere’s State of the City Address presented on March 4th
(Anacortes, WA, February 13, 2019) –Mayor Laurie Gere has postponed her annual State of the City address to Monday, March 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the Anacortes City Council Chambers, 904 6th Street. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Mayor Gere will highlight accomplishments of 2018 and provide an overview of the City’s 2019 projects, goals and initiatives. “This will be a time to celebrate the many accomplishments of the past year, such as the completion of the Maritime Strategic Plan; which aligns with Washington State’s Strategy for Maritime Economies. We are finalizing updates of the City’s Development Regulations and Land Use codes, which will allow us to implement the vision of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan,” says Mayor Gere.
It also is the City’s forum to share plans for 2019. She will share the continued plan for City Municipal Broadband Fiber Project and other investments in the City’s infrastructure, Quality of Life initiatives and continued investment in environmental stewardship and sustainability.
