Guemes Channel Trail 2

The week of August 12th Parks Maintenance Staff began delivering rock to the phases I and VII storm damaged areas of the trail with City dump trucks. A Parks Staff operator used an excavator to place the rocks, along with the assistance of co-workers on the ground. The first day staff total was five, and the number was reduced to two or three as the operation proceeded. At the end of the week, on the 16th, our in-house total number of labor hours was 105.5.

August 12th – 16th Spending and Material totals:

The City rented an excavator for $1600 + tax.

$212.00 in rock was purchased.

$100 was spent on required erosion and storm water controls.

A local landowner donated about 60 cu. yards of rock as well.

Excluding staff costs we have spent about $2000 on repairs in the first week.

Staff is back out there this week working on the trail surface and re-establishing planting pockets. We will provide updated information when this phase of the work is completed.
