Seeking Applicants for the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

City of Anacortes Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

The City participates in the Lodging Tax fund to promote Anacortes as a great place to visit. This funding  supports events such as Shipwreck Day, Anacortes Arts Festival, the Museum, the Farmers Market and other various events that keep our town alive and fun!

The requirements of RCW 67.28.1817 requires the City to have a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, appointed by the City Council, of:

  • at least two members who are representatives of businesses required to collect tax under this chapter
  • at least two members who are involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenue received under this chapter

The number of representatives from the two groups must be equal and the Committee must be chaired by an elected official. The City appoints 3 members to each representative group for a total of 6 representatives.

The City is looking for a representative from a business that collects the tax such as a hotel/motel representative. If you are interested in serving on an exciting and dynamic committee that promotes Anacortes as a great place to visit, please complete the Talent Bank application as soon as possible.
